Nothing is more tragic for our Media Glitterati than when one of their own dies: witness the wall-to-wall coverage and mourning for the passing of Tim Russert. Now, another enabler has died, Tony Snow, former press secretary for the Bush Junta and as of this writing, the New York Times, the LA Times and the Washington Post either have this as the lead story or above the Internet fold to grab your attention.

Meanwhile, buried underneath that imaginary line on the computer screen is an obituary for Dr. Michael DeBakey. What did he do? Is it just another doctor? Well, not exactly. You see, he was a world-famous cardiovascular surgeon who pioneered procedures like bypass surgery. You know what that is? It’s one of the more common surgeries that help keep people alive when they’ve had a heart attack.
